CPT/HCPCS Selection Screen

•	This screen is used in the E-Superbill and Progress Note areas of MEDENT when the Select CPT/HCPCS button is clicked.

•	Switch to Full List / Switch to Frequency List: Click this to toggle between the Full List (which is the list located in the CPT/HCPCS Codes Master File) or the Frequency List, which is the practice's most commonly used diagnoses.

•	Today's Dx's: The Patient's diagnoses from today will appear in this list

•	Selected Codes (Click Items to Remove): Any codes that have been selected will appear in this list. To remove one or more, click on the item. To enter the Detail of a code, click D. The user can set the information for this specific CPT Code.

•	Code: Enter the CPT/HCPCS Code. The more numbers that are entered, the more the list will narrow.

•	Description: Enter the CPT/HCPCS Description. The more letters that are entered, the more the list will narrow.

•

Search: Enter in keywords to search for a CPT code. The keywords must already be in the CPT/HCPCS Code Master File for that procedure. This is not case sensitive and the search can be done using partial words. Note: All new clients and directories since the Fall of 2005, were created with keywords on the CPT/HCPCS Code Master File. If the keywords are not found in the CPT/HCPCS Code Master File, run the Procedure Search Build Utility from the Sixth Utility Menu to place the description words into the keyword area. After the initial setup, it is the client's responsibility to add more search words.

•	WC/MV: If this visit is Worker's Comp / Motor Vehicle related, this field would have the corresponding Insurance information.

•	DX Selection: This button appears when selecting CPT/HCPCS codes in a Progress Note or E-Superbill. Click this button to access the Diagnosis selection screen.
